On July 2nd 2016, Courtney Delk and Kolby Shepherd tied the knot. It was a beautiful day without any complications. It's hard to say which was my favorite thing about this wedding. It could be because it was at the famous Brookside Barn Venue. It could've been all the excitement of the getting ready, anxiousness of the bride and groom, the smile of the MOB when she sees that big smile on her daughters face, the groom whenever he finally sees his future bride, the joyful tears as the bride walks down the aisle to her future husband. The list could go on and on.
We started the day with getting ready shots. I took some beautiful candid shots and of coarse posed. Everyone was in such high spirits that day.
We then proceeded to photographing her beautiful surprise dress. Everyone thought she was going to wear a different dress, so Courtney surprised everyone with this one.
Of coarse, the bouquet and shoes were next. The flowers were done by Jamie Harris of the Flower Girl LLC. You can see on her bouquet that the hanky says the name Jonathan with the dates 4/21/92 - 2/12/15. Jonathan was her cousin who passed away in 2015. She wanted to have something that displays his memory on her wedding day and what a fantastic way to do it.
I gathered a few paragraphs from the bride's family and from the grooms family just for some kind words for the bride and groom. The photos will in order as what was taken first that day.
Bride's Paragraph (Courtney Delk)
My wedding day was one of the most perfect days of my life. It was also one of the most awaited days. Kolby and I have almost been together for 6 years and engaged for 2. I was so excited that the day was finally here. I had some of the most amazing vendors to help make my day so special: especially, my florist Jamie Harris and my photographer, Alesha King. I would recommend for other brides to just step back from all the planning and take in the special moments. I also would say make a checklist of what you need to bring, so that you don't forget your veil (trust me). My husband also has a little advice for the brides out there. He says, "Remember that no matter what, at the end of the day, you're still married." I loved spending this important day with my friends and family by my side. Looking back on my wedding day, I wouldn't change a single thing about it.
Mother of the Bride's Paragraph (Tina Delk)
Courtney's wedding day went very smoothly. I was actually able to enjoy the day because we were able to make sure that everything was taken care of. We picked a venue, Brookside Barn , that has a staff, décor, and a wedding coordinator all there for your convenience. As the wedding coordinator, Ashli Hernandez, was great at taking the stress away from us. She made sure that everything got done, so I was able to spend that time with Courtney. We also enjoyed that all the vendors we chose were so cooperative and easy to work with. My advice for future brides would be if possible, don't try to do everything yourself and don't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy this time in your life.
Mother of the Groom's Paragraph (Kristie Shepherd)
When Kolby was a baby when asked a question he would reply "Do" so when the preacher ask do you take this bride and he answered "I do" my family giggled to themselves. From the beginning my sweet beautiful daughter in law included me on the wedding planning and having boys that meant a lot to me. The day was like a dream from the decorations to the ceremony and firework finally, it was the perfect day! Thank you to all who made this the fairytale wedding.
Sister of the Bride's Paragraph (Christian Parker)
Courtney's wedding was absolutely beautiful.. It was her dream wedding for sure ... She and Kolby worked at brook side barn for a while and were offered to have their wedding there . It's a beautiful venue , and it made for a Beautfiul wedding night . They had a great reception with so much good food and music, and even a coffee bar .. Why didn't I think of that for my wedding ? It was a great night, And I cannot believe my baby sister is married. I couldn't have chosen anyone better for her though Also, Courtney had a wonderful photographer!! Her name is Alesha watts King ! She did a wonderful job ... Courtney will be so pleased she chose to have a professional photographer !!! She will have those pictures forever !!
